C1 premium grade coffee has very specific standards: there can be no more than three full defects (things like black beans, sour beans, stones, insect damage, broken parchment, etc.) in 300 g of coffee. Additionally, the coffee must have distinct attributes in at least two categories of body, flavor, aroma and acidity. By comparison, the more common C3 exchange grade coffee can have up to 22 defects per 300 g. The resulting difference in the cup is apparent in the superior taste.
All of our proprietary organic coffee blends are selected and roasted locally in Reno by our Master Roaster, Carl Staub, each Saturday morning. Carl is one of the most prominent figures in the world of coffee, and over the last 20 years he has trained more than 1600 independent roasters in the art and science of roasting coffee, and attained more than 100 patents in the industry. Carl has studied, practiced, experimented with and truly refined the processes of coffee selection and roasting, and has traveled around the world to learn about different growing
regions and their distinct coffee characteristics. His knowledge and approach to coffee selection and roasting are cutting edge, as are his methodology and his machinery. Most importantly, Carl’s passion for his craft is truly unparalleled.
At Coffeebar, we offer our house blend "Italian Roast," a blend of 4-5 coffees, roasted to an Agtron rating of 33, similar to a classic French roast. We also offer seasonal estate and single origin coffees - just ask us what's in stock!
Coffeebar french presses all of our coffee. We believe that french press offers the fullest flavor, the smoothest brew and the right amount of TDS (total dissolved solids) per cup. Our highly-trained baristas are passionate about what they do, passionate about coffee, and invested in preparing each cup of coffee to perfection!
In addition to premium coffee, our menu offers an array of alternative options including organic chai, mate, and over thirty loose-leaf teas.
Our food menu includes a wide array of fresh, delicious selections, including sweet and savory crepes, traditional panini, seasonal salads, fresh-baked pastries and homemade gelato. Coffeebar makes every effort to support regional farms, prioritizing locally sourced, sustainable ingredients.

A classic Italian sandwich, or “panino” is a celebration of simplicity. Ingredients are high quality, always fresh and delicious enough to stand alone – which is why they’re best served in a simple combination of flavors that complement, and don’t complicate, one another. At Coffeebar, we utilize classic – and simple -- Italian Panini combinations using fresh, delicious ingredients that are rich in flavor, such as: spiced salami; prosciutto; fresh mozzarella; provolone, fontina and brie cheeses; spinach, arugula and herbs; and a variety of fresh, seasonal vegetables. These ingredients are paired up in a range of delicious combinations between focaccia and ciabatta breads, croissants and baguettes, and grilled to perfection for a warm, toasted classic Italian meal where less is truly more.
Perhaps our most celebrated menu items at Coffeebar are our crepes – both savory and sweet. All crepes are made to order, and spun on our crepe griddles. We offer a variety of traditional “sweet” crepe dishes, such as our Crepe Limone (fresh squeezed lemon and sugar), Crepe Nutella (a traditional crepe with Nutella filling) and Crepe Lampone (raspberry jam topped with powdered sugar). On the savory side, our offerings vary… each week our chefs find the best seasonal, fresh ingredients available, and use their culinary genius to create unique recipes. Our savory crepe specials always include a Garden Crepe (seasonal vegetarian offering); Farm Crepe (seasonal omnivorous crepe); and Orchard Crepe (seasonal fruit delight).
